Also commonly known as Kung Pao Chicken, it is VERY popular amongst the foreign expat community not just here in Shenyang but all over China because it tastes so delicious!
It is made with diced cucumber, diced carrots, diced chillies, diced chicken pieces and it is fried together with a special kind of chilli sauce/paste made mostly for this dish and only here in China. Peanuts are roasted separately and then added to the dish and it is then fried some more. It is served with a hot plate of rice and is enough on its own as a dish.
If you are able to taste this dish, you will very quickly see why this dish is so popular not just by the foreign expats but also by the Chinese.
It is most probably the most important and very strongly recommended dish to try if one lacks the time to try and sample most of the dishes that are available in this city or any other city for that matter.
